Nathan J Berry, MBA
Nate joined Barresi Financial in 1998. He graduated from Husson College in Bangor, Maine having received Bachelor of Science in Business Administration-Financial Management and Master of Business Administration degrees.
Professional achievements include the State of Maine Health and Life Insurance License. Nate has served as board member of the Presque Isle Rotary Club, the Nordic Heritage Sport Club, the University of Maine at Presque Isle Board of Visitors, the Maine Healthcare Purchasing Collaborative, the Presque Isle Area Chamber of Commerce, and Leaders Encouraging Aroostook Development.
Nate manages a large group benefits block of business on day-to-day basis as well as marketing to clients through the group benefits, individual investment and insurance division of Barresi Financial. As President, Nate coordinates the finances, budgeting and strategic planning of the firm.
Scott D. Boucher
Scott joined Barresi Benefits Group in 1998. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Maine at Presque Isle with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management. He is currently enrolled in the Chartered Financial Consultant program at the American College. Professional achievements include the State of Maine Health and Life Insurance License.
Scott is an active member in the Anah Temple Shrine, Trinity Masonic Lodge #130, and the Bangor Rotary Club. Currently Scott serves as an Assistant Governor for Rotary District 7790.
As Partner/Account Executive, Scott works with employers throughout Maine of various sizes to ensure that these businesses are in compliance with labor laws and the Affordable Care Act. Scott focuses on developing employee benefit plan designs that maximize the cost effectiveness of the investment by employer groups. Scott actively markets throughout Maine for new business in both the group and individual departments.
Marcus J. Barresi, CLU, ChFC, RHU, REBC
Founder/Financial Services Representative
Marcus graduated with honors from St. Joseph's College in North Windham, Maine, having earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He later received Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), Registered Health Underwriter (RHU®), and Registered Employee Benefit Consultant (REBC®) designations from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. These designations make Marcus a member of an elite group of insurance professionals who are licensed insurance consultants in Maine.
As a CLU® and ChFC®, Marcus has retained membership in the Million Dollar Round Table for the past 27 years. This distinction recognizes performance within the industry for professionals in the top five percent for annual achievement. Marcus is a past member of the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting. He is also a past president of the Maine Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He is a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, Health Insurance Agents of America, and of the New England Life Leaders Association. He is also a charter member of the Association of Health Insurance Agents. Currently Marcus holds his Series 7 securities license, along with Series 63 and 26. As a member of the Maine Legislature's "Select Commission of Access to Health Care," Marcus represented the Health Insurance Industry from 1988 to 1990.
Scott E. Violette
Financial Services Representative/Partner
Scott joined our firm in 2007. Scott graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science. Professional achievements include the State of Maine Health and Life Insurance License and Investment licenses including the NASD Series 7 and 66. In 2010, he received his Certified Financial Planner designation.
Scott has recently served as President of the Presque Isle Rotary Club and the Chair for Momentum Aroostook, He has also served as a board member of the Presque Isle Downtown Revitalization Committee, Wintergreen Arts Center, Realize Maine, and the Presque Isle Country Club.
Scott heads up the financial services team and is responsible for servicing retirement plans, meeting with participants for enrollments and reviews, and assisting individual clients with college funding, retirement income planning, insurance, annuities, and financial planning. Before joining Barresi Financial, he worked as a retail general manager for a Fortune 500 retailer for twelve years, where he gained extensive customer service and management skills.
Jennifer S. Haas, MPA, RHU
Group Service Specialist
Jennifer joined Barresi Benefits Group in 2003. As Group Service Specialist, she services group clients in Central Maine. Some of her responsibilities include the preparation of health insurance studies, assisting group clients with claims, billing, and enrollment issues, and working with the various insurance carriers on behalf of our clients. Jennifer also serves as a key contact for employees of our group clients when issues arrive with claims processing, appeals, and navigation through the benefits package being offered.
Jennifer graduated with distinction from the University of Maine at Orono with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Management and a Master of Public Administration degree. She also holds a Maine Life and Health insurance license. She has over 18 years of experience in group health insurance sales and servicing. She was previously employed by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield as an Account Executive for 5 years. Jennifer holds the designation of Registered Health Underwriter from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
Nancy L. Brewer
Group Retirement Plan Coordinator
Nancy joined our firm in 2002. As Group Retirement Plan Coordinator, Nancy is responsible for providing client support to our group retirement plan clients on a day-to-day basis.
Prior to employment with Barresi Financial, Nancy was employed as Vice President/Personal Trust Administrator for Key Trust Company, NA in Presque Isle. Professional achievements include Certificate with Honors from the New England School of Banking, and Financial ParaPlanner certification. Nancy is a past President of Financial Women International – Aroostook Group and past member of the Maine Bankers Association and the Aroostook County Tax Seminar Planning Committee.
Margaret S. Ellis, CEA
Client Services Administrator
Margaret joined our firm in 1998. Prior to employment with Barresi Financial Margaret was employed as a Secretary for Chester M. Kearney, CPA and also for the Aroostook Valley Railroad. Margaret’s responsibilities at Barresi Financial, Inc. are to coordinate, submit and track new business in the individual department in addition to providing client services.
Margaret also provides sales support to the Registered Representatives, prepares client correspondence, firm staff coordination, carrier licensing and provides assistance to the President. Margaret earned her Certified Executive Assistant designation from the CEA Institute, Baton Rouge, LA. She is a graduate of Central Aroostook High School and has completed courses at Northern Maine Technical College.
Beth A. Williams
Beth joined our firm in 2004. She graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She holds a Maine Life and Health license. Having previously been employed as an Account Service Representative by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, she brings more than five years of experience in the servicing of group clients.
As Service Representative, Beth will be responsible for the service of our large market clients including self-funded clients.
Bowen S. Leary
Financial Services Team Associate
Bowen joined our firm in 2016. His professional achievements include the State of Maine Health and Life Insurance License and Securities Registrations including the FINRA Series 7 and 66. Bo services retirement plans by meeting with employers and their employees to provide guidance and financial strategy. Bo also assists individual clients by offering advice on retirement accounts, college savings accounts, insurance products and much more.
He graduated Cum Laude from Wentworth Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. During his time there he was inducted into Sigma Beta Delta which is the highest national recognition a business student can receive at a college or university with a chapter. He also worked as a student tutor who helped his peers understand complex information in a simplified way.
